Whooping Cough Vaccination Catch Up Campaign 2024/25

NHS England is offering a national Whooping Cough (pertussis) vaccination catch up campaign for 2024/25.

There has been an increase in the number of pertussis cases and recent infant deaths. This campaign will be focussing on the vaccination programme for pregnant women.

Pregnant women are eligible for their vaccine from 16 weeks, with optimum protection between 20-32 weeks. You can have your vaccine after 32 weeks up until your delivery date, however there may not be as high a level of protection to your baby.

The catch up campaign is running from 1st October 2024 to 31st March 2025.

This is normally offered to you by your midwife. However, if you have any questions or miss the vaccine for any reason, please call the surgery to arrange an appointment with a Practice Nurse.
